Larry Sarner: His “Voting Machine Technology” Plays No Role In November, 2011 Elections

By miraclesonmain on  From larrysarnerpseudoscience.wordpress.com
Larry Sarner had an idea, or so he claims. The idea involved “better” voting machines. He raised a lot of money from lenders and investors. The venture failed, miserably, and Sarner, and his wife, Linda Rosa, ended up in bankruptcy court. Sarner drafted his own appeal. It consisted, almost entirely, of a fantastic conspiracy theory of how various parties were seeking to deprive him of his property. The court refused to hear his arguments. Former Sarner associate and occasional supporter...Read Full Story

Larry Sarner: Monica Pignotti Character Assassination?

By miraclesonmain on  From larrysarnerpseudoscience.wordpress.com
Dr. Monica Pignotti is seeking to make a reputation and career for herself in the mental health field. Most in this field hold M.D. or Ph.D. degrees. Pignotti has, for some time, been associated with one of the various fringe groups operated by Larry Sarner. This group’s activities seem to be nothing more than defaming licensed mental health practitioners. Sarner holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and mathematics. Sarner is not, and has never been, a licensed mental health...Read Full Story

A Day of Reckoning

By miraclesonmain on  From larrysarnerpseudoscience.wordpress.com
On June 18, 2010, Advocates for Children in Therapy (Larry Sarner, Linda Rosa, and Jean Mercer) and Charly D. Miller will have to answer for their actions under the aegis of this so-called advocacy group. Both Mercer and Miller have filed laughable petitions with the court. There was also a hilarious last-ditch effort to get the case heard by “Judge Judy”-clearly a ploy for free travel and to have all costs paid for them. It is not known if Monica Pignotti can tear herself away from her blogs...Read Full Story

Free Speech for Jesus

By Becky on  From girlinshortshorts.blogspot.com
The Episcopalian Bishops of California have gone public with a recommendation that Proposition 8, which would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman, be rejected. I imagine in Episcopalian churches there will be priests advising their congregation of this political message. Will the IRS be lifting their tax exempt status? I certainly haven't heard an outcry from liberals demanding that the Federal government move in to gag these priests. I am sure liberals and other leftward...Read Full Story

European Sexy Ad Ban

By Becky on  From girlinshortshorts.blogspot.com
The free speech portion of the First Amendment is the most powerful of the enumerated rights in the Constitution, largely because a well financed media, and the corporate merchants they serve, have a vested interest in commercial free speech. Nonetheless, you can count on some fallout from the recent efforts of the European Union to ban sexist ads—it is certainly the kind of thing that fits in nicely with the agenda of a couple of the Democratic Party's coalition—feminists, nanny poos and the...Read Full Story

#piracy An RIAA bigwig just laid a blog post smackdown on Google, claiming the search giant doesn't do enough to remove links to copyrighted material. Apparently, processing more than one million requests for removal per month isn't enough. More »

Reverse Engineering Weibo Censorship
Nieman Journalism Lab’s Andrew Phelps describes a new analysis of censorship on Sina Weibo by Chi-Chu Tschang. Tschang’s work explores when, why and how quickly weibo posts are removed, and offers a potentially useful tip for catching the censors off guard.“We know that certain topics are censored from blogs hosted in China, Chinese search engines and Weibos,” Tschang writes in his paper. “But we don’t know where the line lies. Part of the...

Fans Clamor for Non-Existent ‘Censorship Towel’
Creativity for creativity’s sake. That’s the motto of the Carmichael Collective, a recreational outlet for the good folks at Minneapolis branding firm Carmichael Lynch. Recently, the Collective hit media paydirt with its clever concept of a “Censorship Towel.” Male and female shots jokingly put forth the idea of a bath towel patterned after the trademark blur-pattern used by media outlets to obscure naughty body parts. California media...

JonDo 00.18.001 uses Skype for circumventing Internet censorship
(PR-inside.com) What is new? The new version includes changes which make it possible to „tunnel“ JonDo via Skype and thereby bypass Internet censorship. This feature is particularly interesting for countries where the JonDonym service is blocked but where it is still possible to use Skype. For these users, it will now be possible to use JonDonym for anonymous surfing despite any blocking by an Internet service provider. What additional...
