Joel Sherman reported yesterday that the Mets passed on Chad Bradford and his 3.5 million dollar salary in 2009. This would be the second time in three off seasons that the Mets spurned Bradford. According to NY Post Joel Sherman, relievers J.J. Putz and Chad Bradford have become available.The Mets have a interest in Putz because he is cost efficient and the Mets like his stuff. Putz is due $5 million in 2009 with an $8.6 million option in 2010 or a $1 million buyout. What started out good for the Mets on Friday has turned into a disaster. The two best pitchers of the Mets , Martinez and Santana could not get it done against the Yanks.
