Chaka Khan is disturbed by Clive Davis' decision to proceed with his annual Pre-Grammy party
the night of Whitney Houston's death. According to Khan, the whole idea of having a party in the
same hotel, just hours after a death, is insane.
"I thought that was complete insanity," Chaka Khan told Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Tonight. "I
don't know what could motivate a person, to have a party, in a building, where the person, whose
life he had influenced so enormously, and whose life had been affected by her...I don't understand
how that party went on."
As reported early Sunday, Khan also pulled out of a planned tribute to Houston. Claiming it was
simply too soon, Khan made the announcement that she would not join Jennifer Hudson via
Twitter.
"As I grieve the loss of my friend and “little sister,” I don’t feel it appropriate to perform at this time,"
Khan wrote. "Continue to pray for the family."
While the adage "the show must go on" is synonymous with entertainment, do you think Chaka
Khan is right ? Was it "insane" to go ahead with the party not only the same night Whitney died
but, in the same hotel?
