Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld has claimed Adele is beautiful but ”a little too fat”.

Karl Lagerfeld has called Adele ”a little too fat”.

The Chanel designer is a huge fan of the ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker’s voice and thinks she has a beautiful face but claimed she is too overweight at the moment.

Speaking to French newspaper Metro, he said: ”I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”

While Karl doesn’t rate newcomer Lana Del Rey’s voice as he does Adele’s he revealed he finds her more aesthetically pleasing.

He said: ”Lana Del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants? She’s not alone with implants.”

This isn’t the first time Karl – who famously dropped 92 pounds in 13 months 10 years ago – has hit out at fuller figures.

Claiming that fashion is about ”dreams and illusions”, he has previously said: ”No one wants to see curvy women.

”You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.”
