I have pretty good eyelashes, so I’m usually not concerned with finding a formula to make them longer or thicker or curled.  So I was very surprised and impressed with Chanel’s new Intense Volume and Curl Mascara.  My lashes look awesome!  I didn’t know they could look this good.  I’m not sure if it’s the formula or the fancy brush, but this is one great mascara.  The formula a thick, but not goopy.  It takes a few seconds to dry, but once it does it stays put and doesn’t budge - no running... I watched Coco Chanel on the Lifetime channel not expecting much - and that's exactly what I got. It was pretty horrendous, but the thing that peeved me the most was that the opening scene (which took place in 1954) showed a woman ascending the stairs of Chanel's atelier wearing Christian Louboutin's. I just love Chanel. It's so timeless. Can you believe Gabrielle "CoCo" Chanel was born in 1883? Dang! Shirley MacLaine stars as the one and only in a Lifetime movie set to air on Sept. 13th. This isn't the first film about the legendary designer who was orphaned and started out as a dressmaker's assistant. There have been before this and will definitely be others in the future. It turns out the rumours were true: our favourite French gamine, Audrey Tautou, will play the role of Gabriel 'Coco' Chanel in the Warner Bros. (huh?) biopic Coco Avant Chanel . The French language film starts shooting September 15th with a release date of 2009. (Above is a first look at the trade ad for the film.) I wasn't impressed with the email campaign Chanel launched for the Exceptionnel mascara. I thought it was annoying and lacking in actual information. But I was in the market for another mascara since while I appreciate what I'm getting from the dramatic Givenchy brush , but sometimes I prefer my lashes not to be the center of attention or require their own table at a restaurant.
