What is Justice - Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom

Every now and then (as unfortunate as it may be) you hear of a crime so heinous, so evil, so vile and so unfathomable that your mind can barely process how a human being or beings could be cruel enough to carry out such an act.

That's the case that confronted me this morning when I turned my television on and started watching In Session, a live court TV program that showcases different trials occurring around the country.

Today's trial involves Latalvis Cobbins, a dog accused of taking part in the rape, torture and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, a beautiful young couple from Knoxville, Tennessee that were killed savagely back in 2007. The specifics almost made me vomit and as an emergency room nurse....let me just say...it takes a lot to cause my vomiting center to rev up.

I can't even wrap my mind around how anyone could do the things the culprits in this case were accused of doing. I consider myself a relatively spiritual person. I concede that I believe there is a higher being/power that is at work in the universe and has some sort of divine and omnipotent presence in our existence.

.....But where is that higher power when things like this occur. Where is that higher power when a young man and woman are tortured beyond anything a sane person's mind can even conjure up on their worst day.

As I'm told in church whenever I attend which isn't often. God allows certain things to happen. I only have one question........WHY????

These animals don't even deserve a trial. How can any jury be impartial after hearing the things that happened to these two people during the last few hours of their lives.

White supremacists and other radical groups have gotten involved and asked the question where was the voice of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton when the horror of this crime unfolded. Damn Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton!  It's not Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton that I'm worried about. Where was the media? Where was the public outcry? Where was the lynch mob (which in this case would have most definitely been justified).

WHY IS THIS TYPE THING ALLOWED TO HAPPEN TO PEOPLE??!!!

I have two sons and can't imagine how any parent could go on after realizing the brutality inflicted on their child before their death. How do you go on?

These bastards that did this don't deserve life...they don't even deserve death. They deserve the same pain and suffering they imposed on this innocent young woman and man.

In the immortal words of Samuel L. Jackson in his performance in 'A Time to Kill'. YES, THEY DESERVE TO DIE AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!!!

What is justice?
