ABC Local reports that Charles Carl Roberts, the shooter in the Amish school shooting, was a father and husband.
Charles Roberts apparently called his wife from a cell phone during the school shooting. He said that he was "acting out in revenge for something that happened 20 years ago," State Police Commissioner Jeffrey B. Miller said. "It seems as though he wanted to attack young, female victims."

Officials say he took his children to the bus stop this morning and that the last time his wife saw him was at 8:45 a.m.
Roberts' wife found what appeared to be a suicide note this morning, and tried to contact her husband.
Investigators say Roberts allowed all of the male students, as well as three adult females who had infants and a pregnant woman, to leave before the shooting.
