Charles Rogers once has a promising football career. Now he's serving 30 days in jail in Oakland, California. Charles Rogers , former standout wide receiver for Michigan St. and number two draft pick for the Detroit Lions , doesn't play football anymore. The troubled 27-year-old Rogers at this point isn't even a free man. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail after lying about attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and failing a substance abuse test for alcohol. Detroit Lions former wide receiver Charles Rogers is being held in the Oakland County Jail on $100,000 bond for a probation violation. Jail records show the 28-year-old Rogers has been locked up since Wednesday.The Oakland Press of Pontiac and the Detroit Free Press reported that Rogers was arrested Sept. 12 in Novi following an incident involving him and a woman. Rogers was later charged with assault and battery, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of trespassing and was sentenced to probation and partial confinement. Lions have hired Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz as their head coach.  Schwartz, who has served as the Titans defensive coordinator for the last four years, led them to the second ranked defense in the NFL this year.  Only time will tell if he will fall to the curse of the Lions, or bring them to greatness.
