Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students at Hanahan High School in Hanahan, SC interested in a career in the legal profession on Tuesday January 24th 2012. Attorney Guthrie talked to students that had an interest in becoming a lawyer or other careers in the legal field for about an hour and a half in the media room of Hanahan High School. Mr Guthrie talked about many things that might be helpful to pursue a career in law and about his experience going from high school to being a lawyer.

Attorney Guthrie went into some of the things that the students could do while they were still in high school to improve their legal skills and get ready for college. Mr. Guthrie also spoke about college and law school and talked about what the students needed to focus on and what hurdles would be in their way. Attorney also touched on the legal profession and shared some of his stories and experience in practice. The students had many great questions ranging from how long it takes in school to be an attorney to how hard the bar exam was, and even what those most difficult challenges were in a career as a lawyer. Mr. Guthrie was happy to give backs to the local community by speaking to students that are where he once was and answering all of their questions and encouraging them to move towards the legal profession.
