Chaz Davies has today re-signed for ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing, staying with the team that has allowed him to express his true potential and remaining a cornerstone of Triumph's long-term development programme. The British rider will be flanked by Italian Luca Scassa, who has signed for the squad after the excellent results he has achieved on a private Ducati in the 2010 WSB championship. ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing will also strengthen its technical staff with the arrival of several key personnel, all of which will help the team ambitiously aim for the 2011 World Supersport title.
Team manager Giuliano Rovelli said: "The renewal of Chaz's contract is the logical result of the excellent job he has done throughout the season. As well as getting onto the podium, Chaz has proved that he can take advantage of every situation thanks to the serenity with which he tackles his job and his exceptional power of concentration. I'm convinced that as he is still young he's got a lot of time to improve. Luca Scassa is the big news for 2011, he has impressed me for the determination he takes with him onto the track. He and Chaz will make a strong pairing ".
Chaz Davies: "I'm delighted to be able to continue working with the Triumph factory team. We've got a year's experience behind us now for next year's championship so we can only get better! I'll be tackling the 2011 season with the aim of going for the world title. It's a great honour for me to race with this fantastic motorcycle from my country ".
Luca Scassa: "I'm really pleased to have signed an accord with the ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing team. It was easy to decide after Giuliano Rovelli had illustrated the project to me, I was impressed by his enthusiasm and determination to have me in his team. Some people may think that switching to Supersport after two seasons in World Superbike is a step backwards, but being a factory rider guarantees me a chance of aiming even higher. Supersport champions have often found themselves in a position to be signed up by important MotoGP or factory Superbike teams. I am therefore convinced that I've made the right choice for my career and I'm happy to be able to race for a prestigious brand like Triumph".
