Very few people are fortunate enough to find someone who will walk through the fire with them. But not only did Roger Ebert find a woman who would walk through the fire; he found a woman who would endure hell's flames, over and over, again! In my book, that makes Ebert one of the luckiest men alive; and Chaz Ebert, Roger’s wife, one of the most amazing women I have ever seen! This sister is a real SOLDIER OF LOVE!
I’m from Chicago, and I grew up watching Siskel and Ebert. Every Saturday, my family and I would gather around the TV to catch the latest thumbs up or thumbs down.
Yesterday, on Oprah, Ebert revealed new technology that has given him back the voice - cancer took away. As I listened to the digitized version of the iconic movie buff‘s voice, I began to realize the full extent of Ebert’s impact on the film industry.
One particular movie review has stuck with me for decades. In 1987, Siskel and Ebert reviewed Prince’s movie, Sign O' the Times. I remember holding my breath, waiting for the verdict. They loved it! Two thumbs up! And from that moment on, Siskle and Ebert became two of the coolest movie critics on TV!
