About Cheetah-licious Christmas (Source: Wikipedia.org )
In 2004, The Cheetah Girls became a real group, instead of an on-screen group and recorded a song for Disneymania 3. After the release of the Disneymania single, they began to record their debut album in early 2005. Without a record label, Walt Disney Records decided to release the album on their label.
They finished recording in mid-2005 and the album was mixed. A release date was then set for October 11, 2005. The girls then were scheduled to go on TV guest appearances to promote the album, but were unable to as Adrienne and Kiely were busy with their other group 3LW. Instead, TRL was sent information on the group and the album. TRL's MTV News segment reported the information on the album, and the group . This was also the first mention of The Cheetah Girls (TV series).
On November 11, 2005, the girls released their headliner single Cheetah-licious Christmas. The music video was not released into mainstream charts, like originally planned, but instead was shown only on the Disney Channel. The song did not chart on any mainstream chart and did not do extremely well on Radio Disney. The album peaked at #74 during it's release in the 2005 holiday season.
On December 12, 2005, the album's second single, Five More Days 'Til Christmas was released. This single was suppossed to attract more attention to the album and the group itself, however, it failed to make the cut, and chart anywhere, even Radio Disney. After, the single's flop, the concert tour was almost cancelled, but the tour had begun and was making money for Disney. The planned music video for Five More Days 'Til Christmas was never made, as the girls were on tour and had no time to make a video.
In 2006, after two holiday seasons, the album has sold nearly 300,000 copies.
