5th Annual Wakulla County Veterans Day Parade and Celebration
Saturday, November 5 · 10:00am - 3:00pm
Hudson Park 21 Ochlocknee St. Crawfordville, FL
Please join us as we honor the men and women of our county and all
over the US that have served our country proudly, fighting and defending
our rights and freedoms so that we may live the way we do. Beginning at
8:30 with a Breakfast for the Veterans, then the parade will start at
10AM down Crawfordville Hwy, followed immediately by celebration in the
park. There will be an Honors ceremony, entertainmaent, craft vendors,
games, food and more. If you are interested in participating, either as a
vendor, parade entrant, entertainment or all, please leave a message on
this page or Wakulla Christian Boosters page. We look forward to
another great turnout this year and hope you will join us.
WALL THAT HEALS-Vietnam Memorial Wall Escort
Come support us on Tuesday, October 18th 2011 as
we escort the Vietnam Memorial Wall, “The Wall That Heals” into Newnan, GA.
We will pick up the esort at the old Shannon
Mall off exit 64 on I-85
and take the Wall through Newnan and to the Fairgrounds where it will be on
public display from 20-23 October.
Staging is at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Shannon Mall.
Don’t worry if you don’t know where we are, we will have folks
staged everywhere to lead you to the group. Rick LeMay from Great South HOG
Chapter #2505 will be coordinating the staging area. KSU will be at 11:00 a.m.
and will be escorted by appropriate law enforcement agencies.

2011 Tallahassee Veterans Day Parade info
This year in addition to the annual Parade will be an all day Festival in the Downtown Chain of Parks and a 5 K Run through the Myers Park/downtown area.

The family of 1st Lieutenant Ivan Lechowich has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in silent respect for this hero.1st
Lieutenant Ivan Lechowich of Valrico, Fla. was assigned to 5th Engineer
Battalion, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood,
Missouri died September 28, 2011 while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. He died of wounds caused by an improvised explosive device.He
had been awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, National Defense
Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with
Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Medal Service Medal, the NATO
Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. He also earned the Sapper Tab,
which is the equivalent of the Ranger Tab.

per agreement with HCSO, we will only be allowed 25 bikes (the first
five bikes are reserved for PGR leadership). Once the 25 PGR bikes (PGR
members) are in the gate, there is a possibility that others would be
turned away.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars-Marianna Post 12046 has again asked the
PGR to participate in a wreath laying ceremony at their Veterans Memorial
in Marianna on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 am. We will be
proud to stand a flag line in remembrance of all of the Heroes who have
stood for us and fought for our freedom.

Homeless Veterans Ceremony

Riders have been invited to assist in the Honoring and Recognition of
our local Homeless Veterans at the Panama City Rescue Mission. I have
been told that there are 50+ locally that have signed up to be
recognized and they are anticipating more to come forward. Many of them
are from the current Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The event will also
include a posting of the colors by the TAFB color
guard, singing of the National Anthem, and a POW/MIA ceremony.
