This video is wrong on so many levels that I don't know where to begin. I'd wager that most of us (me included) have done something stupid in our Corvettes. But to then have your moment of stupidity uploaded to youtube for all posterity is a badge of shame I'd wish on no one. [More]

In October, we posted a video claiming to show the fastest quarter mile time set for a bone-stock Corvette ZR1. That run of 10.851 @ 129.89 MPH was just eclipsed last week by Corvette Forum member "blownlt1" who ran 10.74 @ 133.21 mph in his bone-stock (including tires) 2009 Corvette ZR1. Both these runs happened at the same track - Maryland International Raceway. [More]

A 2001 Vette roadster with 65,000 miles is worth about $21,000. Subtract another $15,000 to de-stinkifiy it - take all that shizz off, repaint it and replace the ugly wheels with the proper factory ones, then subtract another $2000 for the ugly yellow color and my wasted time, I think an offer of $3000-$4000 would be appropriate. We've seen our fair share of questionably modified sports cars, but little tops this subtly awful FAIL of a Corvette. Click any photo to see the horror and hear the confused seller's logic. 1. Add AWD... maybe From The Seller: "Here are the features: 450 Horse Power 5.9 Liter 8 Cylinder AWD." From Reality: Yes, AWD Corvette, of course. There are so many of those running around. We totally believe this vehicle of bolt-ons has its own custom AWD...

(Prudent Press Agency)--- Chevrolet Corvette has made a name as a sports car. It has been in public gaze for a long time and still continues to be in the limelight. Over the years it has improved upon its looks and its style and added modern electronic aids to driving. It has powerful engines in three different models. That is 6.2 liter, 430 hp; 7.0 liter, 505 hp; and 6.2 liter, 638 hp engines. It has six speed manual or optional six speed...

I don't refer to many Corvettes as "wicked" but I was flipping through eBay's Corvette listings tonight and this serious-looking 1963 Corvette Grand Sport recreation caught my eye. Painted Silver with a Black stripe, the Grand Sport's coupe body just rocks. Under the hood rocks too with a Chevrolet 464 crate engine mated to a 6-speed transmission. [More]

Lingenfelter had their Corvette ZR1 test mule making quarter mile passes at Maryland International Raceway on December 7th and during one of the runs, the Corvette ran 9.81 @ 145.74 mph. This is believed to be the first Corvette ZR1 to see the 9's on a quarter mile run. Here is what was modified to make the ZR1 a sub-10 sec car: "Car is running a stock 3.42 rear diff. Factory halfshafts. 2.66 Z06 gearset that has been micropolished...

German-based tuner Loma Performance takes the term "wide body" to a whole new realm with its "BlackforceOne" Corvette package. The only thing that falls flat here is the press releases comparison that this Corvette is somehow "reminiscent" of Boeing's Air Force One. Clearly the Corvette is more of stealth fighter than passenger jet with its 783 hp bi-turbo V8 engine and copious carbon fiber body parts. [More]

When we've seen some Vette Rods before, we've described them as a "C4 hiding inside a C2," for their later-generation (or later) Corvette powertrain and chassis hidden underneath an earlier-generation Vette body. This car does it the same way, but ...

Did Chevy ever really seriously consider developing a turbine-powered Corvette? The short answer is "No!". They may have talked about it over lunch, but Chevy never got into the turbine craze of the late sixties. But just because Chevy was never on-board doesn't mean others haven't looked to build their own turbine powered Corvette. [More]

This Wixom walk-through video was released in late November on Chevrolet's YouTube channel. Master Engine Builder Don Henley takes us through the various stages and quality checks as a 638-hp LS9 is assembled. For us, the real magic comes when we see the interaction these builders have with Corvette owners. You can see emails and posts from the Corvette Forum hanging on the wall. One of those shows a quote from builder Mike Armstrong...

Mecum's Kansas City auction was held Friday and Saturday at the Kansas City Convention Center and the results were very favorable. Of the 46 Corvettes on the sales docket, 37 were sold which is a 80.4% success ratio. For a reserve-based auction, this is very good. Total Corvette sales for the auction was $1,096,750. [More]

* You got a turbine engine, where do you stick it? If you’re Andy Granatelli, you’re thinking Corvette – or, at least, he did so in the late 1970s, when he plopped the turbine from his 1967 Indy car into a third-gen Corvette, choosing the latter simply because it had a long hood. K. Scott [...]
