For the last three years the New Orleans Saints have played the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field and for the last three years, the Chicago Bears have won. The cold weather did not appear to be as much of a factor as good defensive plays and poor offensive ones.
Saints QB Drew Brees (24/43, 232 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs) struggled through most of the first half while Bears QB Kyle Orton (24/40, 172, 0 TD, 2 INTs) looked better in the first half than in the second. The Saints did well against the... Read Full Story

Well the Bears picked a starting QB for better or worse. To be fair, Kyle Orton looked decent at times. The Bears struck gold with rookie RB Matt Forte. Devin Hester made strides at WR last year and Rashied Davis was decent, but they could use some help at WR. My guess is they will draft an WR at some point or bring in a low-end WR a la Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd. Greg Olsen is a major threat as a receiving Tight End, and forms a great TE pair with Desmond Clark.
Defensively... Read Full Story
The Bears are about ready to report to training camp for the 2007 NFL season. We are returning as NFC North champions for the first time since we shuffled in 1985. We won't be overlooked this year, and everyone will be gunning to take us down. Perhaps that's why every team to lose the Superbowl in the past 5 years has a combined record of 33-47. Ouch. But this team isn't a one year wonder, or flash in the pan. In fact, I think we got there a year to early, so without further ado, here is my... Read Full Story
Of all NFL franchises, the excitement surrounding Bears tickets may be the greatest. Chicago has been looking for it’s next great quarterback for almost a decade now and Jay Cutler represents the latest hope. Cutler comes to the Bears after disagreements with Denver Broncos management forced a deal. Maybe not the best of circumstances but I can’t help but feel that this was a good deal for the Bears and a loss for Denver.
Cutler is only 25 years old and has a Pro Bowl under his belt... Read Full Story
Unsung Heroes of the 1985 Chicago Bears
Going into the 1984-85 NFL season many people knew the Chicago Bears were going to be a good team. No one could havepredicted just how dominate the team would be that year and it was a great year to be a Bear’s fan. The Chicago Bears went on to finish the regular season 15-1. They were one game short of a perfect season and would have been only the second team in NFL history to complete a perfect season. Ironically, this feat was spoiled by the Miami... Read Full Story

Spencer Green ) Seven-time Pro Bowler and new Chicago Bears tackle Orlando Pace feels comfortable and healthy for the first time in years. The former St. Louis Rams star met with media today at Halas Hall after signing last Thursday for $15 million over three years with the Bears. The 6-foot-7, 325-pounder arrived quietly, on the same day... Read Full Story
If I were a conspiracy theorist (which I am not, just a biased Browns fan who was programmed since birth to hate the Steelers) I would point out that every questionable call just happened to be called in favor of the Pittsburg Steelers and there was such an egregious hold on the winning touchdown that a Steelers’ lineman pulled up a Cardinals’ lineman shirt over his head hockey style. But I am not, so I won’t. I will say that once again the game well outshined the commercials which most... Read Full Story
So the Bears were in the Super Bowl this year, finally….my team made it back for the first time since I was a little boy. Take into account that the White Sox just won the World Series two years ago, plus my kids are at the age where they are playing sports and I get to coach them….my sporting world has been very kind over the last few years! The last time the Bears were in the Super Bowl, they played New England, and absolutely crushed them, 46-10. I watched with my Dad, and I remember... Read Full Story
Last year during the run up to the Super Bowl it was laughable at all the Best Team Ever discussion with the New England Patriots (especially in hind sight considering they couldn’t even with the biggest game of the season). For my money, had they played an a neutral field and all things considered even (no cheating from Bill Belichicken, no HGH), the 1985 Chicago Bears would beat the 2007 Patriots by at least two touchdowns. This is why the 1985 Bears are the first ever sports team inducted... Read Full Story
Usain Bolt said he had no intentions of playing professional football in the United States, and apparently he has no intention of testing his speed against the NFL's best either.
