Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, the NHL's best rookie in 2008, was charged with robbery and other counts following an altercation with a cab driver in his hometown. Buffalo police said the 20-year-old Kane and a 21-year-old cousin, James Kane, had apparently caught a cab from the city's downtown nightclub district at about 4 a.m. Sunday. The cab driver suffered cuts to his face and his glasses were damaged after being struck in the face and head, police spokesman Michael DeGeorge said. CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday promoted Stan Bowman, a 36-year-old team executive whose father is legendary coach Scotty Bowman, to be the club's general manager. Bowman, who has been with the team for a decade in various posts, replaces Dale Tallon, who is credited with building the team's talented young roster but accepted blame recently for a costly misstep. A day after being demoted from general manager to team adviser, Dale Tallon says he still wants to help the Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup. Tallon says the Blackhawks are in his blood after three decades with the team. He helped rebuild the franchise and last season they advanced to the Western Conference finals.
