How to cook chicken afritada





Afritada Chicken Ingredients:

      *

        1 kg chicken cut into pieces
      *

        5 pieces potatoes, peeled and halved
      *

        1 red onion, diced
      *

        1 head of garlic, minced
      *

        1 green pepper, cut into strips
      *

        1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
      *

        2 cups chicken or pork broth (broth)
      *

        1 cup tomato sauce
      *

        2 tbsp Patis (fish sauce)
      *

        3 tablespoons cooking oil

Chicken Kitchen Afritada Instructions:

      *

        In a saucepan or wok, heat oil.
      *

        Saute garlic and onions.
      *

        Add chicken and lightly brown.
      *

        Pour the tomato sauce and broth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes or until chicken is almost cooked.
      *

        Add the potatoes and continue cooking for 10 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked.
      *

        Add the green and red peppers, simmer for another minute or two.
      *

        Salt and pepper to taste
      *

        Serve this dish hot chicken with steamed rice.
