Xena and Ghia
I have raised a couple of different types of dog breeds and I use the same methods which produce the same outcome. Raising Chihuahua puppies can be really rewarding and a real fun time especially with so many cute dog clothes available. Even celebrities keep up with the latest dog fashions and pet designers. Always consider that designer pet accessories may not win over your friend to well unless they are properly introduced.
Foods are very important due to the small size so consult your local veterinarian on how to raise Chihuahua puppies. Chihuahuas are very small dogs so please safe check your house for any dangers that might seem apparent. Even little dog clothes should be taken into consideration as harmful when ingested so stay away from any clothing that has small buttons, beads or anything that can be chewed off and swallowed.
Your puppy should be bathed every week or when needed. Remember, keep water away from their ears and make sure they are dry before ending this process. Grooming your Chihuahua should be daily to collect any loose hairs that might cause problems around the house. Pay attention to their nails as they grow quickly and should be tended to weekly. Many of the bigger breeds naturally keep their nails shorter as they are walked on the sidewalk and spend a greater amount of time outside on harder surfaces which keep them naturally short. Please do not let the nails on your friend grow out of control; there are many modern dog accessories to assist you in this situation for the comfort of your pet.
Raising Chihuahua puppies can be a little expensive because of the heart worm medicine and flea medication. These two things should be addressed immediately. I cannot stress the importance flea medication and heart worm treatment. This will assure your pet can wear designer pet accessories for a long time to come and in a healthy state. Chihuahuas are tiny, miniature dogs. Because of this fact please cage train your dog properly, do not “hit” or “spank” your dog. This action will hinder the trust and relationship you have with your friend.
Trust is the key to a good master and enjoy your ‘Chi’!
