Photo picture books decided on for the Bedbug series.
After deliberation, the publisher and I decided that using photo picture books for the Bedbug series would make for captivating looking books. We had given some thought as to whether to go with standard illustrations but decided in the end that photo illustrations would serve our purposes better.
Now, that I've seen this video of the book I know we made the right decision. The colors are wonderful and eye-catching and really stand out.
Here's a snapshot I took of the video of my book. I cropped the picture and worked with the exposure to make the image clearer for readers.
I'm very pleased with the lovely colors. Three thumbs up to Edward Aish for his wonderful photo illustrations and to the publisher for her outstanding efforts on behalf of The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite copyright Melody Rhodes, 2009.
The publisher has indicated that more Bedbug videos have been made and I will include these at the blog, as they become available.
It has been so gratifying to see my ideas take shape and blossom into a story! All three of us have collaborated to produce this wonderful little book, an undertaking that has taken us months to execute.
Photo picture books offer outstanding color and realistic looking scenes with bedbug in different poses, which should appeal to young ones.
