Note...the Monforts' also have seats down close to the dugout. Don't assume they are apathetic just because you don't see them in an air-conditioned room. Comment on Colorado Rockies suddenly have depth, options in rotation
The other day I made the comment that I could give a long list of guys that Apodaca hasn't made a difference with and someone asked me to produce that list, so here it is. Comment on Jamie Moyer has to help rescue the Colorado Rockies' rotation
I realize that Dan O'Dowd's focus is on pitching right now, but if he'd make a couple of calls to the agents for Chipper Jones and Freddie Freeman and ask how much they'd pay to play half of their games in Coors Field wearing a Rockies uniform, those deals might bring in enough money to pay for a couple of reliable starting pitchers.

Comment on Rockies Mailbag: For Bob Apodaca, pitching is coaching vs...
I believe that a scuffed baseball is actually an advantage for the pitchers. If they are smart they can make it move a lot. The Umps use to examine the ball but now it is just automatic, making it fair for both teams. Ground balls that have a lot of top spin wont scuff as easily as pitches in the dirt. That's why pitchers use to get in trouble for "scuffing" the balls and raising the seams because of the advantage it gave them. I don't think...

Comment on Rockies pitching falters again as Braves earn sweep at Coors Field
Never gonna happen. O'Dowd still has nightmares about the terrible Neagle and Hampton contracts (that he gave them). It forever scared him away from ever signing a free agent pitcher to a deal longer than 2 years. Comment on Braves rally, use 11th inning homer to beat Rockies at Coors Field
I don't find Paulino on a big league roster right now but he was pretty solid for the Royals last year after the Rockies let him go: 20 starts, 124.2 IP, 4.11 ERA.Escalona was shredding AAA hitters for the Sky Sox (3 hits in 5 IP, no ER, 2 saves) so when they needed an extra arm for the bullpen he certainly made sense as the first man up.I didn't like Moscoso's peripheral stats when they acquired him because he walks too many batters and is an...
