
Police have identified the gunman on the campus of Virginia Tech, Virginia, United States (U.S.). The culprit is Truett Ross Ashley, a 22-year-old boy. It was not clear why he was doing the shooting. Police Virginia as reported by AFP on Saturday (10.12.2011) states, Ashley is a part-time student at Radford University is adjacent to Virginia Tech. According to police, there is no relationship between Ashley and campus police officer who was shot dead Deriek Ashley Crouse. Police who was killed was a U.S. Army veteran who had served four years at Virginia Tech.
39-year-old man was the father of five children. When the incident, Crouse did not have time to return fire or use a gun. Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said Virginia, after killing Crouse, Ashley away from the shooting scene and change clothes. About 30 minutes later, a police officer saw Ashley and other “strange little story” in the campus parking lot. When the police approached Ashley, the young man had been killed with a gunshot wound that seems to do for himself. “So really no one who saw him end his life,” said Geller. An autopsy will be performed on the corpse and Ashley Crouse. Local authorities today are continuing to investigate the incident. This event will evoke bitter memories of the massacre on campus in April 2007 that killed 32 people. Perpetrator, Seung-Hui Cho, a Virginia Tech student from South Korea also committed suicide in the worst mass shooting in modern American history.
