Cho Seung-hui was identified as the gunman in the Virginia Tech school shootings on April 16, 2007. Over 30 people were killed in the shootings, mostly occuring at Norris Hall on the Virginia Tech campus. Seung hui was 23 years old. He was from Centreville, Virginia. He killed himself at the end of the shootings.

A third version of a report about the Virginia Tech massacre is being released because university officials say the previous report contained errors. The revised report was released to the public Wednesday. University officials say the previous report released last month said the school president's office was locked down after April 16, 2007, shootings. The revised report says the doors remained opened during the shootings. Also, the report previously said two school employees told family members about the shootings before the rest of the campus was notified. The report now gives more details about those conversations. Zhu Haiyang, a 26-year-old from Ningbo in eastern China, will be sentenced on April 19 for the first-degree murder of Yang Xin, a 22-year-old graduate student from Beijing, the documents said. A judge is considering whether to dismiss a lawsuit by the families of two students slain in the mass shootings at Virginia Tech. The families claim the school delayed warning the students about an earlier shooting on campus and they are seeking $10 million. A circuit judge is hearing arguments in the case Monday. The parents of Erin Peterson and Julia Pryde sued the state, the school and employees as well as the estate of the student gunman, Seung-Hui Cho (sung-wee joh). The Roanoke Times reported: Cho Seung-Hui bought one of the two handguns used in yesterday’s Virginia Tech shooting at a Roanoke gun shop. John Markell, owner of Roanoke Firearms on Cove Road, answered questions about Cho;s purchase. Markell said he was not in the shop when Cho bought the gun but said nothing stood out about the purchase. Cho paid $571 for the gun and a box of 50 9mm bullets, Markell said. "... Virginia Tech police are investigating written messages on YouTube that threaten a mass shooting at the university, but believe there is no direct threat to the school. Police informed students and faculty of the investigation in an e-mail late Wednesday night, saying that state police and the FBI are assisting. University spokesman Mark Owzcarski says authorities believe the threats may have originated in Europe. The missing files for Seung-Hui Cho were released Wednesday, nearly five weeks they were discovered at the home of the former director of the university's counseling center. Emily Hilscher
was a victim in the April 16 Virginia Tech massacre.

She was never in a relationship with the gunman, Cho Seunghui. Reportedly, Cho got into an argument with Emily in the early morning on Monday April 16th. Cho pulled out a gun and killed Emily, as well as a student advisor who had come to the room because of the argument.

Later that day, Cho killed many other faculty and students in nearby Norris Hall .
