My doctor is very concerned that my LDL cholesterol level is too low. How harmful is this? What is the cause?High LDL can cause damage to the arteries that supply organs. This process is called Atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerosis can lead to,Heart attack,Stroke,TIA, and Peripheral vascular disease.
Did he advised you to avoid fried meat and do physical, or just relying on statins, I will advise you to take a second opinion, that LDL keeps on rising during stress OK. My opinion is preventive step with minmal dosage as a starter, so that you can taper the medication at will, except when I have to choose between the 2 evils.

For indepth study you can follow this link:

My HDL is good – .79 (he says .5 or Higher is good); my LDL is 1.1 and he says it should be around 2.5. I’ve been on Crestor for a number of years and 3 months ago, he reduced the dose from 10 mg to 5 mg (the LDL was even lower before that) and now he’s reduced the dose to 2.5mg. Everything I read explains the dangers of high LDL – but I can’t find a thing on low LDL. Can anyone give me some information??
