ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)—The Los Angeles Angels optioned Brandon Wood to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday to make room for Chone Figgins, who will be activated from the disabled list Friday. The White Sox have expressed interested in Angels infielder Chone Figgins for nearly a year. His speed, consistency, and above average fielding makes him a desirable lead off man for the Sox. Crede is hitting .275 with 8 HR in 42 games this season, and it is likely they will trade him if he continues to hit well by the trade deadline. The Angels continue to shop Chone Figgins in hopes of landing a third baseman. I do not know why they feel the need to trade Figgins, but if they can get something in return they might as well. It wouldn't surprise me if the Tigers tried to make a move. They could have Figgins play left field, and move Jacque Jones to a back up outfielder. After an hour and ten minute rain delay, a pitchers duel broke out as five innings went by in just over an hour. Washington had a 2-1 lead going into the eighth.
