After taking on the ancient sage Confucius, Chow Yun-fat has signed on to play an early 20th century bad guy in a $19 million Chinese frontier film. The "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" star will appear in Chinese director Jiang Wen's upcoming movie "Let the Bullets Fly," Hong Kong's Emperor Motion Pictures said in a statement late Tuesday. Jiang will also co-star, along with Chinese comedian Ge You. Chow will play a ruthless but humorous Chinese criminal during Nationalist Party rule in early to mid-20th century China, Emperor Motion Pictures said. The statement did not reveal the plot. Members of the media were invited on May 20 to the set of the upcoming film "Confucius", starring Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-Fat as the ancient sage. In this action packed film, Justin Chatwin plays Goku who is a martial arts master trained by his Grandpa Gohan (Randall Duk Kim). Chow Yun-Fat has been cast as the famous philosopher Confucius in a new film financed by the Chinese government, the British Broadcasting Corp. reported. The bio-picture about the oft-quoted Confucius, who lived in about 500 B.C., is slated to begin shooting in three weeks. A release date has not been announced, the British broadcaster said.
