"Run It" singer Chris Brown had been named by the Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine as one of the artists to appear at a tribute concert for the King of Pop in Vienna, but his representative said: "Chris is not confirmed to perform or participate in any capacity for this show."

Still, Jermaine said, “Chris has been invited, working out his own situation. He definitely expressed to us he wants to be there. Depends what he is going through with his court case and if a judge will let him leave the country. Chris wants to do 'Man in Mirror' or 'Thriller.’”

Jermaine also called for fans to forgive Chris for his attack on Rihanna, as he believes everyone deserves a second chance. He added: “Will it be negative if he’s there – not at all, he’s asked for forgiveness. If Christ can forgive us then we can see people make mistakes. He’s a wonderful performer and people need support at these kinds of times.”

Yesterday, Jermaine revealed Chris, Mary J Blige, Sister Sledge and Natalie Cole will be among the artists performing some of Michael’s greatest hits including "Thriller" and "Billie Jean." The show will take place in front of Vienna's former imperial Schoenbrunn Palace and Jermaine said the venue had been chosen because his brother "loved castles."

Jermaine will sing a virtual duet with Michael, whose image will be projected onto the stage. Organizers are expecting 65,000 fans to attend the event, which will place on 26 September.

Chris had previously paid tribute to Michael, who died on June 25 of acute Propofol intoxication, at the 2006 World Music Awards in London, singing a version of "Thriller."
