The black cloud over our Washington D.C. continues to hover. No, I’m not going political on you. I’m talking about the sinking ship that is the Washington Redskins. They received another blow today when they learned that Chris Cooley would miss the season with a broken foot suffered in last night’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Redskins are a lost cause, but your fantasy team is not. Here are some reasonable available Tight Ends that you can hopefully grab to fill Cooley’s void: Benjamin Watson, New England Patriots – He’s hit or miss, but he does have 4 TDs and is the 11th ... “We all wanted to go out and get off to a good start. It wasn’t like we didn’t want to win, but it was our first game against a really good team.” “Yeah, yeah, yeah, the Redskins lost to the Giants…I know it sucks, I feel your pain. But, it was the 1st game of the season, it was the Giants and it was in New York. Sure it would be nice to get a win there, but 1 game does not make a season.” “I thought it was a shame, to be honest with you. You take a win when you can get ... Read Full Story

The Good: Chris Cooley and Antwaan Randle El: Captain Chaos and A.R.E. were two of about seven Redskins that showed came to play on Sunday. Both had 7 catches. Randle El had 98 receiving yards while Cooley had 68. No drops and beautiful, hard earned yards after catch by both players were the only bright spots on the offense. Cooley even showcased his run blocking skills too which was something I thought was one of his weak spots in years prior. The Bad: Jim Zorn’s play calling: It’s 3rd and 11. Your teams down by 10. What does one do? Well Jim Zorn decided ... Read Full Story

The Redskins defense did everything it could to keep the game close except catch interceptions. Fred SMoot did pick one ball off but there were two dropped picks that would really have helped them one by Smoot and one by Landry. Plaxico did his best and had a great game making swell catches left and right despite tight coverage. Jason taylor played but not great and Shawn Springs sat out which hurt the Skins at corner. The thing that hurt the SKins was penalties and not being able to complete a screen pass other than the last play of the game when it was ... Read Full Story
On offense, the Redskins have -- or had -- a small handful of players that other teams might be interested in, at least before this debacle of a season unfolded. They are -- or were -- as follows: Chris Samuels, Chris Cooley, Randy Thomas, Santana Moss, and perhaps Clinton Portis. Of those five, only Moss will play today, cementing an already depleted and inept d'oh!-ffense as a complete non-threat. And, oh yeah, the league's third-best...

The Redskins are dead. Dead, dead, dead. There is no life left to this season. In fact, its clear now the two wins on the record were mere flukes. There is no offense, or defense. The coaches stink, as do the quarterback and running back. The only decent player on the team – Chris Cooley [...]

LANDOVER, Md. Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley suffered a broken ankle in the Monday night loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Redskins coach Jim Zorn said the break is on the inner side of Cooley’s tibia. After the game, Zorn was uncertain how long Cooley will be out. The Redskins lost 27-17. Cooley is tied for the team lead in receptions, with Santana Moss, with 31.

Two things disappointed me about the Redskins loss this past Monday: Chris Cooley dyed his hair an extreme shade of blond, perhaps paying homage to Ochocinco. He broken his ankle early in the game and was feared to be out the rest of the season. Despite the fact Cooley is one of the only bright spots on the [...]

The Washington Redskins say tight end Chris Cooley could return to action in a month after having an operation on his broken right ankle. Cooley's surgery was Wednesday, two days after he was injured in the first half of Washington's 27-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
