Chris Cooley might become a cap casualty

According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, there’s a good chance the Washington Redskins may decide to release veteran tight end Chris Cooley during the offseason because of his $3.8 million base salary for the 2012 season.

Let’s face it, Cooley will be 30 years-old and he’s been riddled with injuries over the past few seasons and isn’t worth the salary he’s scheduled to make next season.

With the emergence of Fred Davis, it might be time to move on from the fan favorite.
