Chris Coste is one of the “heroes” of independent baseball from the 1990′s.  He played for leagues and teams which no longer exist, and he made it to the Major Leagues with the Philadelphia Phillies after several years in the minors.  He also wrote two books about his time in the minors. First picked up by Joe Demayo on Twitter and confirmed by a North Dakota Newspaper the Mets have signed former Phillies catcher Chris Coste and added him to the 40 man roster.
