Chris Latham is a top bloke

Latham Former Aussie fullback and surprising omission from our Team of the Decade, Chris Latham, has decided that he's off back to the penal colony at the end of the season.

You can hardly blame him can you?  Looking forward to kicking off against London Irish on Sunday in temperatures normally associated with storing transplant organs, this freezing European winter nonsense is obviously not for him.  He has also stated that he wants some more extended family around so the decision is about as surprising as Stephen Jones having a negative opinion about RL.

What is surprising is the method by which he told the world; via a fan forum, telling the people who pay his wages and support him every week directly.

"From the first game I had in the Worcester shirt against Ulster, I was blown away with the support you guys give at home and more impressively away," he said. "This to me was no truer then last week at Gloucester.

"I was once again overwhelmed by the support we received, this and the fact that you the supporters have been nothing but fantastic to me."

Speaking so openly to the fans rather than through some bland PR statement on the club's website or local press shows that not only is he top drawer as a player, but as a man also.
