The Saints waived CB Chris McAlister after a three week stint with the team. No reasons were given for the release, although McAlister did struggle out on the field at times during the game Sunday against the Redskins. The effects of a lingering PCL injury have taken a toll on his knee as he could not return to the form that made him a feared All-Pro CB with the Baltimore Ravens. Most people who watched the New Orleans Saints dominate the New England Patriots last Monday Night were no doubt impressed with their offensive firepower. Did anyone notice in the Bengals game that Lardarius Webb was one of the best tacklers on the field? There is a lot of talk about the Ravens much maligned secondary and that it is time for Ravens to start the rookie cornerback Lardarius Webb. It might be risky to start Webb because he may get burned and be taken to task by opposing offensives. Another concern starting a rookie is that if he has a bad game it may hurt his development and hurt his confidence. However, Webb seems like he has the personality to deal with adversity. Struggling defensive back Frank Walker was one of eight players declared inactive by the Baltimore Ravens for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.
