It’s no secret that the Cowboys need a better backup QB in 2009 than they had with Brad Johnson in 2008. Today’s Dallas Morning News has a quick tidbit about a player that they may make a run at in 09 - QB Chris Simms:

Seems that the fans had something to do with the Bucs recent firing of head coach Jon Gruden. Today’s St.Petersburg Times is reporting that owner Bryan Glazer spoke to some fans before making the final decision on Gruden. Here is the clip from the paper:

Former Bucs and Titans QB Chris Simms will be in town tomorrow talking to the Broncos. The Nashville City Paper is reporting that the Titans still want to re-sign Simms for the 2009, but now they have some competition for his services. The Broncos have thoughts of Simms coming in to be the backup to Jay Cutler, and the Lions are also thinking they want to talk to him as well. He’s a free agent, so he’ll likely go to the highest bidder.
