Christian Bale
Christian Bale (born January 30, 1974) is a popular British born actor of Welsh background, who has filled movie theaters as Batman in The Dark Knight, alongside Heath Ledger as The Joker, as well as with roles in movies such as American Psycho, Harsh Times, Rescue Dawn, Equilibrium and his Golden Globe winning performance in The Fighter.
Bale made his professional debut on the London West End stage, and then auditioned with 4000 other juveniles for the coveted role of James Graham in Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun in 1987. Bale received a special citation for Best Performance by a Juvenile Actor from the National Board of Review - an award specially created for his performance in Empire.
In the succeeding years, Bale has appeared in Shakespeare, dramas and comedies demonstrating a versatility, depth and range that has made him one of the best reviewed actors, as well as one of the most popular actors on the Internet.
