'The Voice' judges (NBC)
Last night The Voice proved that it didn't need a Super Bowl lead-in to deliver impressive ratings and even more impressive vocalists. The two-hour show, now in its regular night and time, featured a rousing Prince medley that showcased each of the four judges (don't ask us how Blake Shelton's countrified croon managed to work with Prince's material, but it did). The episode also featured 8 impressive vocalists who advanced past the blind auditions and into the next round. Check out the auditions that scored with the judges last night.
Who: The Line
What: "American Girl"
Team: All four judges turned around for this twosome (who insisted that they were not dating), but it was Team XTina that scored the set.
Who: Jermaine Paul
What: "Complicated"
Team: Alicia Keys' old back-up singer is ready to become the main attraction with the help of Team Blake.
Who: Angie Johnson
What: "Heartbreaker"
Team: Carson said that he found this Air Force cutie on YouTube, which helped her eventually find Team Cee Lo.
Who: Angel Taylor
What: "Someone Like You"
Team: Team Adam nabbed this 23-year-old angel.
Who: Gwen Sebastian
What: "Stay"
Team: Gwen sang a Sugarland classic and scored with country-flavored Team Blake.
Who: Kim Yarbrough
What: "Tell Me Something Good"
Team: This powerhouse vocalist was more than happy to become the newest addition to Team Adam.
Who: Lindsey Pavao
What: "Say Aah"
Team: Quirky voice, quirky song choice, not so quirky choice of Team XTina.
Who: Jamar Rogers
What: "Seven Nation Army"
Team: Team Cee Lo's newest member has a tragic backstory and a great set of pipes.
