Beatty, former chief of staff and ex-lover of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, appeared in the courthouse with her lawyers about 12:30 p.m. She also was accompanied by her pastor, Rev. Ronald Griffin. Beatty, wearing a dark business suit and looking more rested than when last seen a week ago, did not comment.

While reading What About Our Daughters, I learned that Christine Beatty has plead guilty to two counts of obstruction of justice charges stemming from the text-messaging sex scandal case involving former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was unfaithful to his mistress as well as his wife, text messages released Thursday suggest.
The messages were released as evidence in the trial of Christine Beatty, Kilpatrick's former chief of staff, the Detroit Free Press reported. She is accused of lying in depositions about her romantic relationship with Kilpatrick and her role in the firing of senior police officers.
