Why Delawareans Should Vote for Christine O’Donnell

I supported Mike Castle in Delaware’s GOP primary for US Senate.  So did many other conservatives including former Delaware governor Pete DuPont and current New Jersey governor Chris Christie.  There was no question that Castle’s primary opponent – Christine O’Donnell – was more conservative.  Unfortunately, the way her campaign was run and the fact that Castle was a shoo-in for the general election made Castle the logical choice.

That said, O’Donnell won the GOP primary.  Now Delaware voters face an even starker contrast.  Democrat candidate Chris Coons has raised property taxes by 48% as New Castle County Executive.  O’Donnell pledges not to support any tax increase if sent to Congress.  Coons supports economy killing measures such as ObamaCare and Cap & Tax.  O’Donnell understands that the detrimental effect these measures will have on our economy, that it is a violation of our personal liberty for the federal government to force any individual to purchase a good or service (ObamaCare), and that Delawareans cannot afford the higher energy costs inherent in Cap & Tax.  Coons supports amnesty for illegal immigrants.  O’Donnell stands against it.

Above and beyond these HUGE differences in policy and philosophy, O’Donnell has the support of DuPont.  The man who SHOULD have been President is a true conservative, a brilliant man who never wavers on principle.  DuPont’s tenure as Delaware governor is proof of what conservative, limited governance can accomplish.  O’Donnell stands for many of those same principles.  Chris Coons stands for the Obama agenda.

Is there really a choice?
