Question by Swimmer: Don’t parents feel bad about lying to their kids about Santa Claus?

Best answer:

Answer by Julianna
My mom did. She said she felt bad lying and told me when I was 4 that Santa, the tooth fairy, easter bunny, ect. and fairytales weren’t real.

Answer by Masters Pet
It’s a little story that makes kids happy. greedy, but happy.

Besides, there’s more evidence of Santa Claus than God. I’m an atheist and I definately believe Santa is real :)
at least, was real. and wasn’t magic but maybe knew a few tricks.

Plus, Santas fun. You can bake cookies with your mom and/or dad and/or brothers and/or sister and leave him and his reindeer a drink and snack and then you wake up and get a surprise in your stocking and a present from some jolly guy that represents caring and sharing which parents should teach their kids and Santa can help teach them that.

Don’t like it? Don’t do it.

Santa is not a religious figure. Christians are celebrating Jesus today, not Santa. No one tells their kids to “pray” to Santa.

Honestly, my 4 year old likes Santa because he is giving her a gift. I don’t think she’s overly concerned with the logistics of it, she just wants the present. I don’t feel bad about lying to her about it.
