FORMER Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston has finally spoken out about his short-lived tenancy in the TARDIS.
He says he quit his role as the Time Lord because he did not enjoy the working environment and wanted to be his "own man".
The 46-year-old, who will soon be seen playing John Lennon for a BBC4 biopic, said if he had stayed in the job he would have had to "blind myself to certain things I thought were wrong".

A TARDIS used to transport Christopher Eccleston's Doctor Who across the universe is among items in an auction taking place tomorrow.
Built in 2005 for the ninth Time Lord, it is expected to fetch £8,000 to £12,000 at Bonhams' Entertainment Memorabilia auction in London on Wednesday.
