Christopher Eccleston

Critics praise Christopher Eccleston's "charismatic" and "intense" portrayal of Creon in the National Theatre's new production of Sophocles' Antigone.  

In the Royal National Theatre’s pacy new production of Antigone, Creon is played by Christopher Eccleston. He may be best known nationally for his brief stint as TV’s Doctor Who but Mr Eccleston is a stage actor of stature.  

The actor became the ninth star to play the Time Lord in 2005 but left at the end of his first season to be replaced by David Tennant. Eccleston has never given full details of his reason for departing but has previously said he didn't "see eye-to-eye ...
