Stargate: The Ark of Truth, Interviews with Christopher Judge and Micheal Shanks

It's finally here! Stargate: The Ark of Truth was released recently, a welcome feature after the sad conclusion to the Stargate SG-1 series. I wouldn't even call it a conclusion, just an abrupt end like a fun high speed chase cut short by accidentally driving off an unforeseen cliff.

No fear! After Ark of Truth, Stargate Continuum is set for a summer release. And there might be more straight-to-DVD stories in the making.

As all die-hard fans know, The Ark of Truth revolves around the Ori angle; those annoying staff hogging bunch who are just so hard to kill. Kind of like the replicators except in fancier clothing. Well, SG-1 locates a secret weapon in a galaxy far, far away which also happens to be the Ori's home ground. And so runs off to stop an impending offensive from the freakishly pale priest guys. How's that for a sneak attack on the enemy?

I also found interviews of Christopher Judge (Teal'c) and Micheal Shanks (Daniel Jackson, the man who just won't die). Both of them talk about their experiences while shooting the movie, a little bit about the underlying themes (organized propaganda of Ori and what not) and how their characters have grown. Or in Jackson's case, evolved.

When asked whether fans can look forward to more SG-1 movies, Jackson said:

I know that another script has been written by Brad Wright. The last time I saw him was at the screening of this one, Ark of Truth. We had discussed some locations, but in terms of details about when, where, how, and contracts and whatnot, that hasnt been gone about.

We can only hope!
