Screening Room: Pattinson Set to Take Cannes by Storm; 'Catching Fire' Lands Its Director

By Joe Robberson on
(Getty Images, PacificCoastNews) Trailer of the WeekCosmopolisWhen Robert Pattinson landed the role of Eric Packer in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, a face was given to a character who might best be described as a nonentity. Packer, the hero of Don DeLillo's novel, which the film is adapted from, is an amalgamation of obsession, greed, power, and failure. He is a fascinating character, wealthy beyond imagination, yet contemptuous of people and even technology. Cosmopolis is his story, and his...Read Full Story

Christopher Walken, master of the 'Let's Play'

By Destructoid on  From destructoid.com
Sometimes, a joke is just so simple that you wonder why no one else had done it before. That's what was running through the mind of our old pal Sean Carey when he discovered "Christopher Walkenthroughs" by Game Society Films. The premise is exactly what you think it is: Christopher Walken plays videogames and records his own special brand of commentary. Naturally, it isn't the real Christopher Walken, but impressionist Jason Stephens does a pretty spot-on job. Four episodes have been pumped...Read Full Story

Christopher Walken Reads Where the Wild Things Are

By weinterrupt on  From weinterrupt.com
Okay so Christopher Walken didn’t really read Where the Wild Things Are, but this guy sounds just like him – and his narration and commentary are both highly entertaining. My only gripe – and it is a small one – is that too many of the page shots are out of focus. Other than that it is pretty funny. The Natalie Wood Case: Someone May Have Heard Her Call for Help

By puertoriquez on  From themarysue.com
Nearly 30 years to the day since Natalie Wood mysteriously drowned off of California’s Catalina Island, Los Angeles police have reopened the case after hearing several new witness statements. And the latest one is positively haunting and disturbing, if it’s actually true. A woman has come forward saying that for 15 minutes, she heard Wood “crying” for help that she ultimately didn’t get. Past accounts include a response by Wood’s husband, Robert Wagner, who has been ruled out as a suspect in...Read Full Story

Natalie Wood Death Investigation Reopened

By Yosef Solomon on  From manolith.com
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has reopened the investigation into the death of Natalie Wood. Wood died 30 years ago on November 28, at the age of 43, after celebrating Thanksgiving at home, then sailing to Catalina Island on the yacht she shared with husband Robert Wagner. Wood’s sister, Lana, requested in 2010 that the case be reopened. After new information was recently offered, the Sheriff’s Department agreed the case was worth revisiting. There has been great mystery...Read Full Story
