Christopher Walken Twitter Account Revealed as Hoax

A popular Twitter account supposedly belonging to the incomparable Christopher Walken was suspended Friday after it was revealed by The Wrap to be a fake.

Walken himself had disavowed the @cwalken account, but that didn't keep it from growing to more than 73,000 subscribers. The account was updated with brief snippets of wit that sounded just enough like Walken to keep people guessing about its authenticity.

"I am now invited to a dog wedding. I don't have the words to make that stupider than it already sounds. They're registered at Whiskers," read one post.

And another: "I do my best thinking in a barber's chair. Sadly I do my worst remembering there too. Sure, I could take some notes but who does that?"

So the account is fake, but did they really have to suspend it? Couldn't it just continue with everyone being in on the joke? I know we kept tabs on the feed here in the office, and fake Christopher Walken will be sorely missed.

The Wrap reports getting in touch with the anonymous Twitterer behind the hoax, who wrote them in an email ""It's been fun! Twitter has decided that the CWalken account is not in their best interest! Alas!"
