Let me start this article with an admission. I've always loved Ciro Ferrara. That does not mean what follows is a defence of his managerial record, as the facts speak for themselves. What is clear, however, is that one of Italian football's true legends has been tarnished over the past few months, and I would like to try restore some of that shine. Juventus are expected to confirm the sacking of manager Ciro Ferrara on Friday morning as speculation mounts that Rafa Benitez could become his eventual successor. It is understood that Ferrara has been on the verge of leaving Stadio Delle Alpi for several weeks after a terrible run of form and Wednesday's Coppa Italia defeat to Inter may well mark his final match in charge.
