Kidnapping and Presumed Death

After Clare supposedly left Hollyoaks, Warren decided to have a party and Katy went back to the flat to change where someone was already waiting. After Katy didn't return to the party, Warren & Justin returned to the flat to find it turned over. Immediately realising it must have been Clare, Warren and Justin get Max Cunningham and set out to find her. Clare was playing a deadly game of cat and mouse. Katy was bundled into Clare's car and she drove off with Warren and Max in hot pursuit. Immediately after learning why Clare took Katy, the fact that Justin pushed her, Warren got a call from Katy on his phone. Clare said that Warren must kill Justin or he would not get his sister back alive. When they met at the docks Warren and Max brought out Justin's body. However, Justin was only pretending to be dead and the chase resumed. Clare tried to run Justin over but only gave him a glancing blow. During the chase, Clare's car went out of control and over the edge of a quarry into the water below. Katy was saved by Warren and Justin, while Clare floundered helplessly in the water. Max dove in and attempted to rescue her, grabbing her at one point but then losing his grip. As he was about to attempt again he had second thoughts and allowed her body to sink deeper and further away.

Final exit and Future Return

Two days after her presumed death it was revealed that Clare survived. She was seen seen in the airport first class lounge waiting for a plane whilst talking seductively with a wealthy looking man. Her destination was not revealed. However, while Clare appears to have left Hollyoaks - this is only for the time being. It has been revealed by a Channel 4 spokesman that Clare will be making a dramatic return.
