Judy Lewis, Secret Daughter Of Clark Gable And Loretta Young, Dies
Judy Lewis, the secret lovechild of Hollywood film legend Clark Gable and actress Loretta Young, has died. Lewis lost her battle with cancer on November 25 at her Pennsylvania home. She was 76.Gable was married to Maria Langham when he had an affair with Young on the set of Call Of The Wild in 1935. Young became pregnant, but kept the news a secret by staying out of the spotlight until she gave birth. Judy lived in an orphanage for nearly two years before Young returned and claimed her as her adopted daughter. Judy did not learn the truth about her parents until she pressed Young for answers in 1966. She later shared her story in a 1994 autobiography titled “Uncommon Knowledge.”“It was very difficult for me as a little girl not to be accepted or acknowledged by my mother, who, to this day, will not publicly acknowledge that I am her biological child,” Lewis said in a 1994 interview.Lewis was never able to speak to Gable was about Young’s confession.
