Is Mystery Man Clarke Rockefeller Really Christopher Chichester?
Clarke Rockefeller is the supposed-millionaire businessman who kidnapped his daughter, Reigh Storrow Boss, last week. Daughter Reigh has since been recovered (from an upscale townhouse on a marina in Baltimore), but authorities are now trying to figure out who Clarke Rockefeller really is.
Rockefeller, who bears no relation to the American Oil magnate, does not appear to have any history that predates 1993. Essentially, he did not exist under that name, and claims not to remember anything before that year.
Police suspect that Clarke Rockefeller may in fact be Christopher Chichester, a man who disappeared from San Marino, CA in 1985.

Christopher Chichester lived in the guesthouse of Jonathan and Linda Sohus , who had been missing for months before Chichester's own disappearance. He was under suspicion for some role in their sudden absence----there was speculation that perhaps he'd been in love with Linda Sohus and had killed Jonathan Sohus in a fit of jealousy.

The mystery of the couple's disappearance remains unsolved, although three bags full of human remains were discovered in 1994 when contractors dug to build a swimming pool for the new owners of the Sohus house. The remains were never identified, but were believed to be those of Jonathan Sorus. Linda Sohus was never found. As the police continued their investigation, they came to believe that Christopher Chichester was really an alias being used by Christian Gerhart Streiter. It seems that if Clarke Rockefeller is the man once known as Christopher Chichester, he's no stranger to the alias.
