I have been seeing more and more stories recently about Philippe Coutinho leaving Inter in the January transfer window. According to a Gazzetta Dello Sport, Coutinho is said to be getting frustrated at his lack of playing opportunities under Inter boss Claudio Ranieri.
Coutinho was (is?) viewed as the future star of Inter. He first started playing regular in the first-time under Rafael Benitez, but three managers in less than 12 months seems to have stunted his development. Since Rafa left Coutinho has only started twice for Inter in all of 2011.
Countinho’s lack of playing time has led to speculation that he could leave Inter in January with a host of European clubs vying for his signature including Liverpool of the Premier League.
I cannot envision any scenario where Inter sells Coutinho in January. He is too good a talent to give up on this early in his career. If Claudio Ranieri is not going to play him, then Inter should send Coutinho out o loam so that he can continue to develop.
It amazes me that clubs get all these great young players and then don’t give them any playing time as they are not quite ready. Send them out on loan so they can pick up experience as it will only help you in the long-run.
If I was running Inter I would send both Coutinho and Luc Castaignos out on loan. Ranieri is not going to play them and they need to experience of playing matches week in and week out.
