Maybe he needed to know that he wasn't getting traded bay on July 31st. Maybe it was the very large gap that seperates Triple A hitters from Major League hitters. Maybe his repore with Jason Varitek just wasn't as good as it has been with Victor Martinez. Whatever it was, Clay Buchholz has been one of the leagues best starters since August 1st.
