Dining Out For Life Eat at a participating restaurant near you on April 30 to help the local HIV/AIDS community. For the first time Dining Out for Life, an international event to raise money for local diningoutforlife [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?et=1102564185504&s=8642&e=001xl7RQHn0PG6DH-wYy9YdZ1OuqlhSITQi6GgF9l2MR71wULFbvLForAS3AT6kXimQHl-ceR4L2yc_-RD3_LhmkRg7QRctnqqUAvqwGZhnC5TJ0YSEoewFOg==]HIV/AIDS services, will occur in San Jose and 52 cities in North America including San Francisco and Oakland. On April 30th, eat at participating restaurants and about 20 percent of your check will fund critical services for the HIV/AIDS. The Health Trust, a San Jose-based foundation that offers a variety of services to HIV/AIDS patients, is sponsoring the event. Once a patient ends up in the care of the Health Trust, they have likely hit bottom. And government cutbacks are making it financially difficult for the Health Trust to continue delivering the high demand for services such as food, housing and emergency cash. Go out to eat on Thursday at a participating restaurant to help your community. Representatives will be there to welcome you. Cleve Jones speaks in San Jose The well known gay civil rights activist will discuss the past, current and future journey toward equality. He as been a big part of the gay rights struggle for equality over the years, starting with helping Harvey Milk become the first openly gay person to be elected to public office. Once the AIDS crisis hit San Francisco in the early 1980s, Jones was there to provide support and action during a devastating time for the community. He helped found the AIDS Quilt, a project that touched millions of Americans and created vast awareness of the personal stories of those who died from the disease.
