Clifton Collins Jr 'not involved in Thor movie'

STAR TREK actor Clifton Collins Jr has revealed that he has NOT been cast in the upcoming Thor movie following confirmed meetings with director Kenneth Branagh.

Collins, 38, who appeared in Capote, Crank: High Voltage and most recently as the Romulan second-in-command Ayel in the new Star Trek movie, had said in May, via his Twitter page, that he was studying for a possible role in the movie.

The actor met Branagh in June to discuss an undisclosed role in the film, which is due out in May 20, 2010 and is based on Marvel's comic book version of the Norse thunder god

But he now tells Deadbolt it didn't work out and he is not involved with the movie.

"I have nothing to do with that piece", he told the site. "That was a long time ago. I wasn't really getting into it, I was just preparing stuff.

"It's a fantastic director, a great piece, but I have absolutely nothing to do with it."

He said he was unable to reveal which Thor character he had been interested in playing.
